This mini (4" x 4") mixed-media painting marks a quiet but profound milestone: the first completed piece in Kiki Piper's current evolving artistic style.  Born during a period of introspection and "creative cocooning" or the period known as the “belly of the whale” during the "hero's journey", one of Kiki's ongoing themes. 
 
Built intuitively from random layers of repurposed paper and glue, the image of a blue macaw revealed itself, bold and unwavering, saying, "Hello, I am here to guide you". A relationship began between the parrot and Kiki and the canvas became a safe place to explore without pressure or expectation.
 
Symbolically, macaws represent clarity, bold communication, and vibrant self-expression, a fitting messenger for the journey of reemergence and creative becoming.
 
Painted on a small canvas panel, signed and sealed for protection.  Ready to be displayed on a mini easel or hung on the wall.
